Born in Taiwan and raised in Ohio, Alex Broadstock makes films that blend surreal imagery with deeply human observation. His work is rooted in memory, place, and the textures of lived experience.
Now based in New York, he brings that same sensibility to commercial work for brands including Adobe, REI, United Airlines, Timberland, and Carhartt.
His debut film 'First Light', about life in the northernmost town in the world, earned twelve festival nominations internationally.
His second film, 'Threads of Anzal', an exploration of Morocco's 3,000-year-old rug-making tradition, won Best Short Documentary at the New York Indie Shorts Awards and premiered at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival.
